About Dr. Yoon's Piano Studio
Lessons are offered both online and in-person
My mission is to provide my students with the most meaningful, thoughtful, and enjoyable musical experience through piano lessons. Drawing upon my extensive training with distinguished music educators from the renowned Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music, I firmly believe that inspiration is a teacher's most precious gift to their students. I focus on a strong technical foundation while cultivating a deep sensitivity to the nuances of sound. Lessons are typically scheduled on a weekly basis, with the option for bi-weekly sessions, in Upper West Side studio in Manhattan (or online).
I recommend a starting minimum age of 5 years old for piano lessons. While my primary focus is on nurturing the growth of intermediate to advanced students, for those who are already on the path of musical development or looking to further their expertise, I do make exceptions on rare occasions. I am open to accepting complete beginners if a student demonstrates exceptional commitment and determination.

Student Recital & Competitions
Performance is an important part of music education. My students have performed in the Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center as winners of International Piano Competitions for young artists. In addition, My students the annual studio recital serve as a platform for students to demonstrate their musical progress in the presence of their loving parents and grandparents. These events provide the opportunity for students to set a long-term goal and to polish their performance.
ABRSM / RCM Certification
My students have performed in the Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center as winners of International Piano Competitions for young artists, and have been recipients of ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of music) and RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) certifications in both Piano and Theory. The ABRSM and RCM are international music exams given twice a year to students all around the world. The certification exams can be very effective for students' progress, as well as helpful for students' application to private high schools and colleges.
Learn from a Concert Pianist
Not every piano teacher is the same. Learning from an award-winning piano teacher with education from The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, you will be making the best decision for your child’s music education. Regardless of the level, every student in my studio builds the correct technical foundation from the start, and learns the subtle beauty and expression of music from a performing concert pianist.
